Beyond the City is seeing the Light! Experience the enchantment of the Lantern Festival at John Ball Zoo! Embark on a mesmerizing one-mile light tour through the zoo grounds, where handcrafted Asian lantern displays cast a magical glow over the animal habitats. Transportation:

Youth will need to be dropped of at John Ball Zoo by 8:45pm. If transportation is an absolute barrier,  we may be able to provide assistance/a ride however, we have very limited seats. 

Mini Adventures Program Requirements:

  • Youth 13 - 18 and must be in middle or high dchool. Mini Adventures are FREE new experiences and adventures that teens may not have had the opportunity to try in or near Greater Grand Rapids.
  • Permission slips will be emailed and must be completed by Friday, May 24th at 5:00pm.
