Kamara Sudberry

Although she still considers Flint, MI home, since relocating to Grand Rapids over 8 years ago - Kamara has worked to support the wellbeing of traditionally excluded and underinvested communities in West Michigan. As a system-change advocate and diversity, equity and inclusion practitioner, Kam has supported many different sectors including but not limited to corporate and community healthcare, human resources, city government, higher education, workforce development, manufacturing, marketing, and design.

As the first Global Inclusive Design Leader at Steelcase, Kam leverages her passion for collaboration, design thinking, and advocacy to drive inclusive actions and better outcomes in the workplace and beyond.

As a founding board member of Beyond the City, Kamara believes this organization is solving an essential need of the community: to provide Black youth with life changing opportunities to dream, explore and learn about their history and culture. To Kamara, Beyond the City stands to improve the overall health of the community and envisions a future where Beyond the City reaches and serves BIPOC youth across the United States (and we need your support to make that happen)!
